  • Auto Expense Tracking: Automatically detects transactions from bank SMS/RCS messages
  • Voice Transaction Input: Hands-free transaction entry using voice commands
  • Receipt Image Linking: Attach receipt photos to transactions for complete records
  • Local Data Backup: Export and backup data to your preferred location
  • Smart Budgeting: Set and track category-wise spending budgets
  • Historic Analysis: View detailed spending patterns and trends over time
  • Multi-Account Management: Track banks, credit cards, and wallets in one place
  • Home Screen Widgets: Quick access to financial summary

2.2 Offline-First Architecture

The App operates primarily offline and stores all financial data locally on your device. All transaction data, account information, and SMS message processing happens entirely on your device and never leaves it.

3. Privacy and Data Storage

3.1 Offline Operation

  • No account or registration is required to use the app
  • All data is stored locally on your device
  • No data is transmitted to external servers
  • You maintain full control over your data

3.2 Data Security

  • You are responsible for maintaining your device's security
  • We recommend using your device's built-in security features (lock screen, biometrics)
  • The app encrypts all data stored on your device
  • Uninstalling the app will permanently delete all associated data

4. Permitted Use

You may use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes to:

  • Track your personal financial transactions
  • Manage your personal budgets and expenses
  • Analyze your spending patterns

5. Prohibited Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the App for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
  • Use the App to store or track someone else's financial data without permission
  • Use automated tools to access the App
  • Use the App for commercial purposes without authorization

6. App Permissions

To utilize FinDet's full potential and access its most powerful features, the App requests certain permissions. These permissions are essential for analyzing your past and future spending patterns effectively, though technically optional.

6.1 SMS/RCS Permission (Essential for Auto-Tracking)

Why It's Essential: This is the core feature that makes FinDet powerful. It enables automatic expense tracking from your bank transaction messages.

  • Used to automatically detect and categorize transactions from bank, payment, and merchant SMS/RCS messages
  • Reads both traditional SMS and RCS (Rich Communication Services) messages
  • All messages are scanned and processed 100% locally on your device
  • No SMS or RCS content ever leaves your device
  • Only transaction-related patterns (amount, merchant, date) are extracted
  • Essential for analyzing your spending history and future patterns
  • You can revoke this permission anytime from device settings
  • Without this permission, you must manually enter all transactions

6.2 Microphone Permission (Essential for Voice Input)

Why It's Essential: Enables hands-free transaction entry for convenience and accessibility.

  • Used for voice transaction input feature
  • Important: Voice-to-text processing uses android built-in Google's Speech Recognition service
  • Voice audio is sent to Google's servers for transcription
  • Requires internet connection to function
  • FinDet never stores or has access to raw voice audio
  • Only text transcription is received and parsed locally
  • Transaction data stays on your device
  • Subject to Google's Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
  • You must explicitly consent before using this feature
  • You can revoke this permission anytime from device settings
  • You can use manual text entry instead at any time

6.3 Camera Permission (Essential for Receipt Records)

Why It's Essential: Enables complete expense documentation with visual proof.

  • Used to capture receipt images for transactions
  • All images are stored locally on your device
  • No images are transmitted to external servers
  • Essential for maintaining complete transaction records
  • Perfect for business expenses and tax documentation
  • You can revoke this permission anytime from device settings

6.4 Other System Permissions

  • Internet & Network State: Required ONLY for voice transaction feature (Google Speech Recognition) and app updates. Core functionality works 100% offline.
  • Wake Lock & Battery Optimization: Ensures SMS monitoring and widget updates work reliably in the background
  • Boot Completed: Restarts SMS monitoring after device reboot for continuous tracking

6.5 Permission Summary

All permissions are technically optional - you can use the app without granting them. However, these permissions are essential to serve you better and utilize FinDet to its fullest potential for comprehensive financial analysis. Without these permissions, core features like automatic expense tracking and voice input will not be available.

7. Data and Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. Our collection, use, and disclosure of your personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using the App, you consent to the collection and use of your information as described in our Privacy Policy.

8. User Content and Data

8.1 Your Data

  • You retain ownership of all financial data you input into the App
  • You are responsible for the accuracy of your financial data
  • You can delete your data at any time

8.2 Data Backup

  • We are not liable for any loss of data

10.3 Local Operation

  • The app operates entirely offline on your device
  • App functionality depends on your device's performance and storage
  • Regular device maintenance and sufficient storage space are recommended
  • We are not liable for any device-related issues affecting app performance

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:

  • WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES
  • OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE APP (IF ANY)
  • WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY FINANCIAL DECISIONS MADE BASED ON APP DATA
  • WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY DATA LOSS OR SECURITY BREACHES

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from:
